That feeling you get, when you can’t remember if you turned the iron off, or locked the front door. That gnawing in your stomach, that uneasiness, until you are able to get back to your house and check. Now imagine living with that day in, day out. That is what having Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) can be like. Exaggerated worry and concern often about day to day things, and even worrying about worrying so much are all symptoms of GAD. This cycle can be very hard to break without professional help.
There is no exact cause known for GAD and it has been found that woman are more often affected than men. There have been links to biology, stressful life events and family history contributing to GAD.
