Eating disorders affect around 1 in 20 people, more commonly men than woman. While it is common to associate eating disorders with anorexia, other disorders such as bulimia and binge eating also fall under this heading. Although Eating Disorders (ED) are classed as purely mental health issues, the side effects ravage the body physically. In order to treat ED’s, counselling is undertaken to assess the underlying causes and to correct disordered thinking.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and its offshoot Mindfulness have shown great results in treating ED’s. Margaret McDonald has used these techniques with great success, to help clients reorder their thinking, and then reorder their eating. Margaret teaches ongoing techniques to help clients recover and stay in remission.
With over 30 years counselling experience, Margaret McDonald can help assess the cause of eating disorders, and teach the skills and strategies to recover from them. To book an appointment or make enquiries phone 07 3862 8833 Or email firstname.lastname@example.org
