Self Esteem

By July 10, 2019May 15th, 2024No Comments

Self Esteem is how you think and feel about yourself. Low self-esteem is connected with negative self-talk, self-doubt, self-criticism and shame, whereas people with high self-esteem show confidence, self-respect and satisfaction with themselves.

Self-esteem is built from birth. It reflects our experiences in the world and our reaction to them. Self-esteem can be shaken, even in adulthood by traumatic experiences, a failed marriage or the loss of employment.

A trained professional psychologist can help you rebuild your self-esteem and establish a stronger sense of self-confidence. Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is often taught because it is a goal setting and solution-focused therapy.

Hypnotherapy has shown to be beneficial, with many clients finding improvements in their outlook.

Margaret McDonald offers a non-judgmental environment, and the experience of unconditional positive regard.
